“Join voices in protest to social injustice!”
Welcome to a very special edition of FULL SPIN, where we’ll be celebrating Janet Jackson’s classic album “Rhythm Nation 1814” while raising funds for Black Lives Matter. Each FULL SPIN show creates a visual album of non-stop drag, presenting an uninterrupted, song-by-song celebration of an iconic album.
This month, we’re welcoming guest host Severity Stone and an incredible cast of drag artists:
Chanel the Angel
Mz. October May Lay
We’re also moving the show to a Tuesday (June 23) to avoid distracting from any potential weekend demonstrations. We can't wait to see you there!
A NOTE ON PERFORMER PAY:
For full transparency, we’re trying something new to ensure that these talented artists are paid for their hard work while still raising funds for charity. All performers are given a fixed base pay covered by sponsors, including:
Club Cafe Boston
The Network/La Red
A HUGE thanks to these sponsors, as this allows us to donate any pooled tips to Black Lives Matter, while any individual tips sent to each performer will be free for them to use as they wish.
We believe that the way to support and respect drag artists is to ensure they are paid for their work. We hope this pay model can work for charity shows, and we welcome any feedback!
